Recovery is personal. The decision to have a procedure, the healing process that follows, and the body you are caring for along the way are all uniquely yours. What should never be personal is whether or not you can find a compression garment that actually works for you.
At Isavela, we have believed since day one that quality recovery support belongs to everyone. Every body, every gender, every procedure. That belief shapes every garment we make.
Recovery looks different for different bodies
Post-surgical compression serves a real clinical purpose. It reduces swelling, supports healing tissue, improves circulation, and helps your body settle into its new contours after a procedure. None of that changes based on who you are or how you identify.
What does change is what you need from a garment. Someone recovering from top surgery needs reliable, flat chest compression in a design built specifically for that purpose. Someone recovering from gynecomastia correction needs a compression shirt or vest that fits naturally and moves with them. A non-binary patient recovering from body contouring needs options that do not assume a specific silhouette.
We design for all of those needs, because they are all valid, and they all deserve the same medical-grade support.
Why fabric matters more than you might think
Before you even think about style or closure type, the fabric touching your healing skin is the most important factor in your recovery garment. This is especially true for patients whose skin may be more sensitive due to hormone therapy, recent surgical trauma, or individual skin conditions.
Every Isavela garment is made with antimicrobial fabric treatment that blocks 99.9% of bacteria, reduces odor, and helps prevent skin irritation and breakouts during the weeks you are wearing compression most consistently. Our garments are also completely latex-free, which matters for anyone with latex sensitivity and makes our products safer for longer daily wear throughout the recovery period.
There is no lace anywhere in our compression line. Lace has no place against healing skin. Our garments are clean, flat, and functional by design.
Chest binders: designed specifically for top surgery
For patients recovering from top surgery, Isavela offers a dedicated chest binder line, the ST series, built from breathable monofilament segmented elastic with a VELCRO closure for easy, adjustable wear during recovery.
The ST line comes in three band width options so you can choose the level of coverage that matches your procedure and your comfort: the ST01-6 with a 6-inch band, the ST01-9 with a 9-inch band, and the ST01-12 with a 12-inch band. All three are specifically designed with top surgery recovery in mind, and the VELCRO closure means you can adjust compression as swelling changes throughout your healing process, without needing to remove the garment entirely.
Compression vests and bolero vests for arm and chest procedures
Our VS line covers a range of upper body compression needs. The VS02 series is a bra with sleeves, closing at the back with a hook and eye closure and a 2-inch bustline elastic band. It comes in short sleeves (above the elbow), mid sleeves (below the elbow), and long sleeves with a padded zipper closure, giving patients options based on how much arm coverage their procedure requires.
The VS03 series is a bolero vest with sleeves, closing at the front with a hook and eye closure and a 2-inch waistline elastic band. It is also available in short, mid, and long sleeve lengths. Both the VS02 and VS03 have no shoulder straps, keeping the silhouette clean and the compression focused.
Compression sleeves for arm procedures
Our SL line is designed specifically for arm compression following procedures like brachioplasty or liposuction of the arms. The SL01 series is available in three lengths, short, medium (3/4), and long, all closing at the back with a hook and eye closure. The SL02 offers long sleeves with a padded zipper closure for easier on and off.
For patients needing both arm and light chest support, the SL04 and SL05 add a 2-inch plush waistband and front hook and eye closure. Both are designed with no breast coverage. The SL05 also includes a built-in 3-inch monofilament breast stabilizer band for additional structural support where it is needed.
Petite-frame chest compression options
For patients with smaller frames who need reliable chest compression with easy front access, the BR05-NC is worth considering. It is a cup-free compression bra and vest with a padded zipper and hook and eye front closure and a 2-inch waistline elastic band, designed to provide clean, flat support without added volume or bulk. The front zipper closure makes it practical for patients with limited arm mobility in the early stages of recovery, and the no-cup construction keeps the silhouette minimal and unstructured.
Male garments for every stage of recovery
Our MG line was developed specifically for male anatomy and covers a wide range of procedures and coverage levels.
For patients needing lower body compression only, the MG01 is a girdle brief with a 3-inch elastic waistband, a padded front zipper and hook and eye closure, and a crotch pouch. The MG10 is a bodysuit brief with Velcro shoulder straps, a padded front zipper and hook and eye closure, and a crotch pouch.
For vest-style upper body compression, the MG03 is a compression vest with Velcro shoulder straps, a padded front zipper and hook and eye closure, and a 3-inch elastic waistband, offering full torso-length coverage. For patients whose procedure was focused on the chest or upper abdomen and who do not need full length coverage, the MG03-SH is the shorter cut version of the same design, with the same Velcro shoulder straps, padded front zipper and hook and eye closure, and 3-inch elastic waistband, in a more compact silhouette.
For patients who prefer a pull-on compression shirt with no closures, the MG04 is a lightweight, breathable option. The MG05 adds a 3-inch elastic band below the waist for additional lower torso support.
For patients needing arm coverage in addition to torso compression, the MG06 is a compression vest with short or medium sleeves and a padded front zipper closure. The MG07 and MG07-BK are bodysuits with short sleeves and an open crotch, with the BK version extending below the knee for additional lower body coverage.
Stage 1 vs Stage 2: what the numbers mean
If you are shopping Isavela and notice some garments labeled Stage 1 and others labeled Stage 2, here is what that means in practice.
Both stages provide the same level of medical-grade compression. The difference is in how the garment is put on and taken off. Stage 1 garments feature zippered closures on both sides, making them easier to get in and out of during the first weeks after surgery when your range of motion is most limited. Stage 2 garments are pull-on designs with no zippers, intended for the later phase of recovery when movement has returned and a simpler, cleaner garment is more practical for daily wear.
Across Isavela's female garment lines, garments with odd numbers in their SKU are Stage 1. Garments with even numbers are Stage 2. Knowing this helps you choose the right garment for where you are in your recovery timeline.
